Impromptu 2D2N staycation. (photos taken by me)

Two weeks ago, my friends stumbled upon XY Hotel Bugis through social media (@xyhotelbugis on instagram) and alerted our friend group about their current promotion. Due to the coronavirus outbreak (and strict parents), my friends and I cannot travel out of Singapore. So we might as well enjoy a hotel promotion as part of our 'graduation trip'.
Hip, stylish, chic, quirky 4-star boutique hotel nestled in Singapore. Art gallery. Local Arts, Music @xyhotelbugis
This is the promotion (not sponsored)
[PROMO] Book 1 night and get 1 night free at XY Hotel Bugis! From now till 31st March only. Check out on their website with the promo code <XYBPC1FOR1> and enjoy 1 night free stay with 1 night booked within the month of March.

After service charge and GST, we paid about $223.63 but since we're in a group, we decided to split it and we each paid cheaper.
Based on the photo the website had shown, it looks very artsy (I am a big fan of art and green is my favourite colour) and spacious, even had a bathtub in the toilet. Also, this is my third hotel experience so its something new for me - a room with beautiful painted wallpaper.

The lobby of the hotel looks very comforting that it depicts a homey vibe with good lightings and comfortable furniture. They even have a bookshelf at the corner with some ol' books for us to read. However, ventilation is not that strong over here but on the other hand, good wifi connection over here.

This pantry reminded me of IKEA. What caught my eye is the table with the map of Jalan Klapa, and the different paintings of the bread spreads jars. The promotion only caters to 2 people for breakfast since there's more than 2 of us, we didn't have our breakfast here since its $8 additional charge (according to what my friend said when she asked the hotel staff). Judging from the food I saw from the pantry, they do serve food (i.e. cereals, sandwiches, ham) which I felt is enough and sufficient for the price we paid.

The room turns out to be small, but cute with the cat painting. The toilet is perfectly fine for us with the bathtub, bidet and hot water. Some area of the room is quite dusty so this is one thing they could improve on. There's five of us so the room it is squeezy for us and our placement of baggage, and it triggers my claustrophobia. Downside of the bed is, it is a two single mattress combined into one to make it look like a double bed. There are some dried stains on the mattress which grosses us out and maybe they can switch to newer mattress and fresh sheets? Wi-fi connection is bad here - sometimes it can connect, sometimes it disconnect.
There is a pool on the second floor of the hotel but I did not get a chance to snap a photo. The pool resembles a kiddie pool but my friends did enjoyed it because they went swimming and recording Tik Tok videos at 7:30am where no one is awake yet.
To summarise, my hotel stay is great (I cheated because I spent most of the time exploring outside) and I love the appearance of the interior and exterior. Hotel staffs are friendly and offer help when needed. Just that every good things will always have things to improve on, right? Would definitely recommend this hotel to travelling seekers who would like to explore the simplicity of it.
